As I watch the NASDAQ crumble and over-bought tech businesses come back to the pack, it made me see more clearly what’s on the horizon for most of these companies.

Even modestly successful businesses when carrying the “Tech” moniker have been mind-numbingly overbought in the last 20 years. A shotgun investment strategy by most venture capital companies combined with big investment money from 3000 miles away making ‘Dissasociated investments’ (an investment made in a business that you don’t understand what the business actual is) in IPO’s that offer little to no growth, yet are bought into being $50 billion dollar market caps overnight and you have a problem.

The investing phenomenon I just outlined has a few significant destructive side effects.

It has led to people in positions of power thinking they are much smarter than they are. That is why Reed Hastings and Netflix are scrambling while lacking the skills necessary to stop their inevitable future. Adam Neumann (WeWork) still thinks he is god while even Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg suffer from it to a certain degree despite their insane success.
