I don't understand how you can watch this many films and still write 3000 words. Is there more than one you?

The opening credits were probably tactical and done by the Dir. to avoid an extra 2.5 minutes for people to get bored and lose focus. Once he got Ford to agree to it, everyone else didnt really have a choice. Most likely done with home viewing in mind. Over 50% of the films clicked on are ended before the 5-minute mark.

1st Indy movie was great. 2nd was awful and (even for a popcorn movie) ridiculous, I liked the 3rd and this one which I have started calling, Indiana Jones and the Pick of Destiny, is ok.

I liked Mangold's use of realism like the German with subtitles. But I also think Lucas is little more than a self-important hack whose best work was American Graffiti.

His obsessive commitment to destroying his ex-wife (who won the Oscar for editing Star Wars) was enlightening as to his shortcomings. Without her, his films got longer and more self-indulgent. Only when he worked with someone who wasn't a sycophant was he able to bring quality to the big screen. IE, Spielberg, and the aforementioned franchise.

Lucas has subsequently had his ex-wife's name removed from Star Wars, which she won the Oscar for. His pettiness is also the reason for the layoff between Jedi and whatever the 4th one was called.

Per the divorce settlement, Marcia received 50% of all proceeds from anything Star Wars related for 20 years. By "anything" I mean he couldn't officially even think about the phantom menace for 20 years.

So in a move of bitterness unrivaled in a notoriously bitter business, Lucas was next level.
