Let me guess... I'm 54 and you are a few years yonger? Jaws and Close Encounters were earth shattering film making. By the time he got to ET he had perfected his gimmicky 'childs reaction' thing he does.

Had I not seen the other two films prior maybe ET woud have had a greater influance, but all I saw was stuff he did in the other two films with less scary antagonists (younger audianded demo) and poor special effects.

The shark in Jaws was terrifying.

Close Encounters is how I know man's greatest fear is "the unknown".

ET was a trashcan that ate candy.

Other than ET, great list lol.
