That was the most overtly racist thing I've seen on Medium. Which isn't good, but is just baked into society at this point. So it is what it is.

Trump was the monument to white man's racism. (I'm a white man, didn't vote for Trump) But like you said about 'people offering money for sex' being a reality in other cultures, so is racism. Have you been to Asia? Especially Japan?

Los Angeles is as racist as Mississippi and as segregated as Birmingham in 1960. But it is so in a more balanced way. Although its true, a black man walking around my neighborhood in a hoodie (even though its 50 outside) will light up an app (I won't mention the name of) with old white people saying he's a "suspiciously looking guy, is "casing" houses". Even though he has a DWP shirt on under the hoodie.

I dated an African American woman from south LA for a little while and she didn't want anyone from her area knowing she was going out with a white guy. She wouldn't even let me pick her up. I was like, "Are you married?".

Her answer was, "no, you're white".

That isn't to condone in any way any aspect of it, and I applaud you for calling attention to what you see and feel. Just be cognizant even the most aware of all this aren't, at times, helping to perpetuate racist stereotypes.
