This is one of those "I'm to going to contradict myself right off the top" lists.

#1, Although made by SONY, Spiderman is a Marvel movie.

#2 After the Thin Man? 1936? No one has seen it who will read this. I've been in the movie business for 30 years and I have never heard of it. And I love old movies. I'll take your word its good. And yes, I have seen The Thin Man.

#3 Thank you for omitting LOTR, the wried creepy cult of misogynistic fans didn't need any more fuel. Also, the 2nd one was terrible.

#4 Judgement Day is fantastic, holds up, and is a story continuation. It's also a better film than half your list.

#5 Although a contradiction. Spiderman 2 is one of the better Marvel films.

#6 What you got right:

The Road Warrior still influences filmmakers to this day. American audiences didnt know exactly what to make of it, but couldn't stop going to see it. Mad Max is good but the VO is horrible.

Alien changed horror films and brought them up a rung on the auteur ladder. Aliens then took that lofty bar and uped yet another level. Changed how we see horror movies.

Godfather Part 2 is peak, Coppola. Godfather one he fought the studio. Apocalypse Now was a disaster saved by the editor. Watch Heart of Darkness if you want to know how fucked up that movie was. Number two he still had plenty of meat in the source material bones and it's an Opus. It's like he won an Oscar with a film, then went back and used all his experience to remake it better.

However it's key to only judge Coppola after seeing the aforementioned films AND Tucker, Peggy Sue Got Married, Rumble Fish, and The Outsiders.

Congrats, you did hit a home run with #1.
